Site Survey Report-Generation Programs
Some programs offer report generators to assist in developing the necessary documentation, including site map coverage plans and equipment lists. This is one of the unique features to the AirMagnet tool that was discussed in Chapter 10, "Using Site Surveying Tools." The AirMagnet SiteViewer site survey tool can provide coverage maps generated based on SSID, channel, AP coverage, and so on, as shown in Figure 13-4. The AirMagnet Reporter tool can generate reports in various formats, making it easy to import data into the site survey final report.

Other tools such as the Cisco Assisted Site Survey tool used with the Wireless LAN Solution Engine (WLSE) provide some graphical documentation on site coverage. If the site survey is completed using a tool such as WLSE, the final report should include a coverage map generated by this tool.
Regardless of which tool you use, a couple variations of the coverage diagrams can provide a great deal of assistance to anyone using the survey report when installing or maintaining a WLAN. Two variations are as follows:

Coverage and signal strength for each AP at the minimum data rate
