PowerDsine

PowerDsine leads the fast-growing PoE technology that allows power to be transmitted over the same network cable as data. PowerDsine has spearheaded the development of the PoE market from its inception.

The company first developed its PoE technology in 1998, and has subsequently delivered its solutions through communications companies such as Avaya, 3Com, Nortel, Siemens, and Ericsson, and has even marketed its own midspan solutions.

Founded in 1994, PowerDsine is headquartered in Israel, along with its research and development facilities, and has offices in Farmingdale, New York. The company was the driving force behind the IEEE 802.3af standard for sending data over Ethernet cabling.

Times Microwave Systems

Times Microwave Systems (TMS), a division of Smiths Interconnect, was founded in 1948 as the Times Wire and Cable Company. TMS is an engineering-oriented organization specializing in the design and manufacture of high-performance flexible and semirigid coaxial cable, connectors, and cable assemblies for RF transmission from HF through microwave frequencies.

Although many cable companies manufacture RF cabling, TMS is one company that not only sells various cables, but also handles many of the hard-to-find connectors (as well as all other cabling accessories).

TerraWave Solutions

TerraWave Solutions, a sister company to GigaWave Technologies (a training company specializing in wireless networking technologies), was founded in 2000, and distributes WLAN infrastructure and accessory products. Included in its product line are WLAN "standard" accessories such as site survey tools, various antennas, and cabling solutions for many of the unusual needs in corporate and enterprise environments. In addition, the product line includes AP enclosures for outdoor and harsh environments, unique AP and antenna mountings fixtures, and even lightning-protection products.
