Essential Information
Automatic Updates is the third feature in Windows Security
Centre. It allows you to download the most recent security
patches from Microsoft. You can do this manually by visiting
update.microsoft.com but it is better to do it automatically.
Broadband enables your computer to download the patches
in the background, while you get on with other things.
Action 1
In the Windows Security Centre click on Manage security
settings for Automatic Updates. Then set a time in the
day when you would like your computer to contact the
Microsoft website for the latest updates (Fig 6).
