Analyzing the Data Stream

Once the RF analysis has been completed, the network operator will want to proceed with a
temporary installation of terminals at either end of the link and proceed with an evaluation of
the data link. Here one should measure the data throughput, latency, packet loss, and number
of retransmissions. Most manufacturers of wireless broadband equipment include software
utilities that support such diagnostics. Since the radio terminals are already in place, and there
is nothing to be moved physically, the data link evaluation is a much more straightforward
process.
