Electrical Current Parameter
Electrical Current Parameter The electrical current parameter describes typical power requirements of the wireless LAN components. Wireless LAN radios typically require 250mA to receive, 350mA to transmit, and 10mA for sleep mode. The aggregate power consumption is dependent on use and parameter settings, though. For example, a wireless LAN radio that spends most of its time transmitting could require 350mA of current. One having very little activity would have few transmissions (or receptions), which would significantly decrease current requirements. The current requirements directly affect battery longevity requirements. For example, high current requirements, especially under heavy use, will significantly decrease battery charge longevity.
