IEEE 802.11 Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) Physical Layer
The IEEE 802.11 Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) Physical layer uses frequency hopping spread spectrum to deliver 1Mbps and 2Mbps data rates in the 2.4GHz band. FHSS and DSSS were the initial 802.11 Physical layers implemented in wireless LAN solutions in 1997, shortly after the finalization of the 802.11 standard. This section describes the architecture and operation of 802.11 FHSS.
